Business rules mostly pertain to business calculations, but it also includes aspects of business policies and constraints that define the behaviour of certain business rules. These business rules can be implemented using the rules perspective. 

The rules perspective provides a familiar spreadsheet like interface for defining the data and the associated business rules. You can implement business rules that uses variables, mathematical operators, and spreadsheet formulas and functions. The rules perspective can be used to:
  • Add variables whose scope can be either public or private
  • Implement business rules using spreadsheet formulas and functions on either public or private parameters
  • Establish relationships between data models to define business rules on parameters across other models using 'networked-object' access
